This is a government funded satellite service to provide metropolitan-equivalent broadcasting services to people in remote areas and to viewers in terrestrial digital television 'black spots', who would not otherwise be able to receive digital television services.
There are many locations on the Sunshine Coast where VAST is the only available service.
Some of these locations are the Obi Obi Valley, Mapleton, Flaxton, Montville, Maleny, Cooloolabin, Hunchy, Yandina Creek & Lake McDonald, just to name a few.
