Most new (and more recently existing) homes are now installing data throughout the home for the best possible internet speeds and reliability. On a domestic level, and with the recent explosion of home offices, it is not always possible or practical for the main modem only to provide high speed internet throughout the house.

Moving the initial incoming internet/phone cable to a more practical location.
